The Art of Moving On

The worldly wisdom tells us a lot of methods, but it's as simple as this:
- Let us throw off everything that hinders (especially) the sin that easily entangles
What is it that hinders you from moving on? What slows you down? What's stopping you? Throw it off, throw it away.
If they are memories that remind you of the bitterness, THROW IT OFF.
If they are unhealthy relationships, THROW IT OFF.
If they are sins like unforgiveness and bitterness, THROW IT OFF.
Don't indulge in the harmful emotional stress--THROW IT OFF.

- Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
Not moving on slows you down and prevents you from reaching the goal that God has set out for you. The enemy's ultimate purpose is to steal, kill and destroy the destiny that God has for you. But God is definitely more powerful than that. From our end, all we need to do is run with perseverance--despite its difficulty, despite its impossibility. Simply put: Don't give up. Discover God's purpose in your life and make it your mission to fulfill it, instead of moping and being embittered.

- Let us fix our eyes Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God
If you choose to throw off and look away from all the things that used to hinder you, then it means you're going to have to look another way; the thing there is you can look at another thing that can hinder you from moving on and progressing in the race marked out for you. So here's who when can look at, without the worry of failing again: Jesus - the author and perfecter of our faith.

Let passion for Him consume you;
Remember that it is BY HIM that all your wounds--physical OR emotional--are healed;
Remember that it is BY HIS POWER that you are victorious in all things.
Remember that APART FROM HIM, WE ARE NOTHING.

On our own, we cannot move on the healthy way. It is by fully trusting and believing in the finished work of Jesus that we can move on.

- Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart
If you think you've suffered the worst and you can't handle it anymore, CONSIDER JESUS. Ask yourself, "What would Jesus do?" As we practice the art of moving on, we are molded into Christ-likeness; see beyond the bitterness and unforgiveness, but see the glory of Jesus being reflected in you. Again, don't give up. On days that you feel that you've endured too long and too hard already, consider Jesus who endured far worse, far too long and hard.

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV)
